This is me and my crew!

As I approach the empty-nest season of my life, I am compelled to share with you the things I have learned along the way as a wife, mother, home schooler, teacher, and minister of the Gospel.  It is my passion to share wisdom I have gleaned from my study of God’s Word and the experiences of my life.   Thus the launch of Pearls for Living: Sharing wisdom from the Bible and life experiences to help us all build more fulfilling and God honoring lives, homes, and families.
I have been involved in church ministry virtually all of my life, especially in the area of music.  My degrees are in music education, K-12, with emphasis in vocal performance, and elementary education, from Lee University in Cleveland, TN.  I have sung in dozens of choirs and ensembles, and have been a soloist, pianist, choir director, and worship leader.  Leading worship is my passion!  There is nothing more wonderful on this earth than to gather in the presence of the King with my brothers and sisters as one voice to worship the Lord!
Here I am in 2010 speaking at my first women’s conference
I am also a retired teacher.  After dabbling in teaching high school and middle school music for awhile, I finally settled into teaching early childhood, grades 1st – 3rd.  I loved it so much!  Fortunately, I was also able to carve out a few years in the middle to home school my own children for seven years.  What a rewarding time in my life!
My husband is the associate pastor of our church, and we serve together as a team primarily in the music ministry, including directing the choir and leading worship.  It is a blast to support the wonderful man of God that Jeff is!  I also play the piano and lead the praise band.  In addition, I facilitate two Bible study groups with the ladies of our church.  I am so fulfilled in particular to be able to serve the senior ladies.   I love them with all my heart!

Under the direction and training of Dr. George J. Lewis, the Bishop and overseer of Holy Ground Ministries, a full-gospel and charismatic, non-denominational organization that licenses and ordains ministers of the Gospel, I became an ordained minister in October of 2011.  Occasionally, I speak/preach to the congregation or ladies conferences.

Jeff and I have a blended family with six children, three boys and three girls. Only one is left at home, and she is a senior in high school.  Two are married, one is engaged, two are in college, two graduated from college, and we have one grandson.  This new season of our lives is so wonderful!
Life has not always been as rosy as it looks here.  I have been through some of the deepest valleys and most treacherous storms possible.  I have been at the bottom of the pit, and I have also risen to the heights of restoration and healing.  I am not afraid to be transparent and share with you things I have learned through this incredible journey of my life.
I love studying the Bible, and I am a hopeless book addict!  I enjoy walks, nature, music, and my family, home, and dogs.  Coffee is my biggest weakness. Every day, I have to have me some Jesus and coffee time!

In our home, we love to laugh so much, and we have made a decision to enjoy life and find humor in everyday situations.  It is so much more fun to live that way!

I hope I have something to share that will encourage and bless your life!
