I am so excited to announce that registration begins today for our two holiday studies beginning soon! Find out all the information you need right here to see how it works, and you can register for either or both studies just by leaving a comment at the bottom of this page. Tell us your name, where you are from, and which Bible study you plan to do with us, or both. It’s that simple! In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV

 

In everything? Is it really possible to be thankful in every situation? Well, for a couple of weeks, that is what we are all going to be doing together. We will cultivate hearts of gratitude and practice giving thanks to God no matter our circumstances.

 

This will be a 2 week *SOAP study of what the Bible says about giving thanks. We will have brief, daily journal assignments and activities to help focus our hearts and enrich our Thanksgiving holiday. We will continue to have video teaching, and we will also have new activities in our Facebook group.

 

There is NOTHING to buy! This study is completely FREE! All you will need is a Bible in your favorite translation and a journal, or simply a spiral notebook. That is all! I will provide all the rest!

 

*SOAP stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. I will provide more detailed instructions and examples once we begin the study.

To me, Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year! As a child, it was all about the anticipation of what Santa would bring us, and the highlight was the annual Christmas program at church. I loved singing and doing plays. I understood that Christmas was the celebration of Christ coming to the earth as a baby, but it certainly wasn’t my focus.

 

When I began creating Christmas memories for my own children, the true meaning of Christmas began to grip my heart in a new and fresh way. What a profound revelation it was to me to learn how to celebrate Christmas with all the wonder and joy of understanding who my Messiah was and all that I have because of Him. This took my celebration to a whole new level!

 

This season, we will be reading through the book Because of Bethlehem, by Max Lucado. What is the big deal about this baby in a manger? What does his birth have to do with me? We all have our own answers to this, but we will ponder the beauty of all this season has to offer in a fresh new light through this wonderful Advent study.

 

Guess what else? This also includes an optional coloring book, and it is gorgeous! How fun!

 

We will do the traditional book instead of the workbook. This is available in a hardback edition, on Kindle, and on Audible. Yes, you can even have this entire study narrated to you!

How This Works

  • Register by leaving a comment below. Tell us your name, where you are from, and which Bible study you plan to do with us, or both. It’s that simple!
  • Subscribe to this site, if you haven’t already, to receive future updates by email. Enter your email address in the field to the right, and then click the subscribe button.
  • Join our closed Facebook group, Heart to Heart Women’s Bible Study, for weekly interaction, activities, videos, and small group sessions. Closed means that no one will be able to see our posts unless they are members of the group. This is for your safety and privacy.
  • Small Groups: There will be a schedule for small groups pinned to the top of the Facebook group, Heart to Heart Women’s Bible Study, as we get closer to the time. All you have to do is show up, and the discussion will take place underneath a group photo.
  • Follow my ministry page on Facebook, Shari Lewis Ministries, to stay up-to-date on ministry events and for daily prayers, nuggets of wisdom and encouragement for your life, photos that you are welcome to share, and faith building blog posts to strengthen you in your walk with Christ.
  • Purchase a study book and follow the reading schedule.

 

Schedule

November 7:

  • Scriptures, visuals, and journaling instructions will be provided for the Give Thanks study.

November 7-13:

  • Small groups will continue for A Woman Who Doesn’t Quit as we discuss WEEK 6.
  • Simultaneously, we will be conducting our first week of journaling and group activities for Give Thanks.

November 14 – 20:

  • This will be the only week we will have small groups for the Thanksgiving study. Continue journaling and group activities.

November 21 – 27:

  • Begin Because of Bethlehem
  • Read chapters 1-3 and pp. 137 – 149 of the Advent portion of the book.
  • Introductory small groups, but no groups of Thanksgiving Day

November 28 – December 4:

  • Read chapters 4-6 and pp. 151-161 of the Advent portion
  • Small groups to discuss chapters 1-3 and the first week of Advent.

December 5 – 11:

  • Read chapters 7-9 and pp. 163 – 173 of the Advent portion
  • Small groups to discuss chapters 4-6 and week 2 of Advent

December 12-18:

  • Read chapters 10-12 and pp. 175-185 of the Advent portion
  • Small groups to discuss chapters 7-9 and week 3 of Advent

December 19-23:

  • Read pp. 187 – 194 to complete the Advent portion
  • Small groups to discuss chapter 10-12 and week 4 of Advent
  • No small groups on Christmas Eve

 

Weekly Schedule

  • Each Monday I will post an update on the blog with a devotional, discussion questions, tips and information, and occasionally an activity. These can be found here, in your email if you subscribed, and posted on the Facebook page and group.
  • I will post a prayer thread each Monday to post your requests and praises so we can pray for each other. You are also welcome to share inspirational quotes or memes.
  • Tuesday is Faith Talk. We will have relevant topics to discuss.
  • Each Wednesday I will post a teaching video pertaining to the week’s study. We will also have Wordless Wednesday where we brainstorm captions or answer questions from weekly pictures.
  • Favorite Fridays will be a fun way to get to know each other and interact on a more social level.
  • Each weekend we will have themes to share Scriptures and/or worship songs for Weekend in the Word.
  • Each week will run from Monday through Sunday on the schedule.
